Progress continues to be made on the future home for retired priests in the Diocese of Owensboro, including the framing that took place on Jan. 23 ahead of the winter storm that arrived a few days later.

Every year, the Diocese of Owensboro hosts a Mass honoring the recipients of the annual Sophia Awards – individuals at least 65 years old, who received the highest number of nominations in their parish for this recognition, and who embrace and lead lives of stewardship by giving of their time, talent and treasure.
Charlie Winstead was a quiet, unassuming man who spent thousands of Masses in the back pew of St. Stephen Cathedral. He was an usher there for 54 years.
