On Sept. 22, 2025, the staff of the McRaith Catholic Center lost a longtime friend who was known beyond the Diocese of Owensboro’s pastoral center as a dedicated altar server for the annual Chrism Mass: Mark Vollman.

Owensboro, Ky. – Mark Anthony Vollman, 64, of Owensboro, Kentucky, ran into the arms of Jesus on Sept. 22, 2025. Born on Dec. 28, 1960, Mark was a radiant soul whose infectious smile, boundless enthusiasm, and unwavering kindness touched the lives of everyone he met.
‘More than a music director’

One of Margaret Powers O’Bryan’s favorite memories of her uncle, Msgr. Bernard Powers, was during his residence at St. Elizabeth Parish in Curdsville, when she would stop by the rectory on her way to or from work.

Fr. Isaac Daniel Kreutzer, known as “Fr. Dan,” a priest of the Diocese of Owensboro, passed away on Dec. 11, 2022 at the Linda White Hospice House in Evansville, Ind. He was 75.
