A special message from the Office of Vocations.

National Vocation Awareness Week is Nov. 1-6, 2026, and our diocese’s Called by Name Weekend is Nov. 7/8, 2026.

Parishes are asked to announce the Called by Name initiative at all Masses the weekend of All Saints Day Oct. 31/Nov. 1 and encourage their parishioners to pray and reflect on individuals throughout the week who they believe may be open to God’s call to priesthood or consecrated religious life within our diocese. Parishioners are invited to submit names of those they believe to have the beginnings of a particular vocation using provided pew cards or the online form at https://www.owensborovocations.com/hub/called-by-name.

Names of those received will be invited to an Andrew or Miriam dinner in the spring with Bishop Medley to pray and learn more about discerning with the Church.
