Tribunal staff attend provincial meeting

BY TRIBUNAL STAFF

Several of the Diocese of Owensboro’s Tribunal staff attended their annual provincial meeting on July 29-31, 2026, which was held at Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park in Burkesville, Kentucky.

This year’s presenter was the Rev. Dr. Scott Hedges, the Chief Medical Officer with Seven Counties Services, Inc., and the Medical Director for St. Luke’s Institute in Louisville, Kentucky, who serves as peritus (expert) in the Metropolitan Tribunal of Louisville, among other offices. He was ordained to the permanent diaconate for the Archdiocese of Louisville in 2020 and is assigned to the Shrine of St. Martin of Tours in Louisville.

The topic for the three-day conference was “Custodes Iustitiae et Misericordiae: Flourishing in Tribunal Ministry Amid Secondhand Trauma.” The staff found the topic to be valuable as was networking with the other staffs of the seven dioceses in Kentucky and Tennessee, which make up the province.
