Paducah, KY — St. Mary School System is pleased to announce the appointment of Bryan Krueger as the next System Director of St. Mary School System, effective May 18, 2026.

Following an extensive search process, Mr. Krueger emerged as the clear choice to lead the school system into its next chapter of growth and opportunity. With more than two decades of executive leadership experience, he brings a strong background in organizational development, strategic planning, financial management, and team leadership.

A graduate of the University of Illinois Chicago, Mr. Krueger has spent the past 23 years leading healthcare and financial services organizations in roles including CEO, CFO, and Executive Consultant. Throughout the search process, his leadership experience, strategic vision, and collaborative approach distinguished him as a leader uniquely suited for the role.

“While Mr. Krueger comes from outside the traditional education field, we believe his extensive executive leadership experience, combined with his deep commitment to the mission of Catholic education, will bring tremendous strength to our school system during this important time,” said David Kessler, Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Owensboro.

Mr. Krueger’s connection to St. Mary is deeply personal. 

“I am drawn to this position because of the mission of St. Mary and the opportunity before it,” said Krueger. “I believe deeply in forming students as well-rounded, faith-centered individuals. That belief is personal, as both of my daughters have attended St. Mary, and my wife serves there as an educator. I cannot think of anything more meaningful than committing my time and energy to helping our school grow and thrive for generations to come.”

Mr. Krueger officially began serving in his new role on May 18 and has already begun working alongside faculty, staff, and school leadership in preparation for the 2026–2027 school year.
