On Aug. 7, 2026, the life-sized golden cross was returned to the top of the steeple at Sts. Joseph and Paul Parish in Owensboro. The cross and steeple were damaged by significant hailstorms that struck the region in March 2025. Kelly Ward, parish director of maintenance, oversaw the project with assistance from Bill Blincoe, Diocese of Owensboro director of project and risk management.
