Paducah parishioner earns Eagle Scout Award

Andrew “Drew” Byrne was awarded his Eagle Scout Award on Nov. 11, 2025, at St. Thomas More Parish in Paducah, Kentucky. 

Drew served as the chaplain’s aid of Scouting America Troop 2007 and organized religious activities for the troop including the annual Stations of the Cross walk during Lent, a rosary during October, and Mass on campouts.

Drew has earned all the Catholic Religious Emblems offered by the National Catholic Committee of Scouting from Cub Scouting through Scouting America including the prestigious Pope Pius XII. He earned 3 bronze, 2 silver, and 3 gold palms for a total of 64 merit badges. 

Drew is a member of St. Thomas More Parish and is the son of Paul and Shelley Byrne.  Drew’s Eagle Project was constructing, installing, and stocking a “Little Library” for Ballard Memorial Preschool in LaCenter, Kentucky.
