Husband of Miss Kentucky 2018 sworn in as U.S. citizen

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Owensboro recently helped the husband of Miss Kentucky 2018 obtain his United States citizenship. Adam Wilkinson, originally from England and who today works as an elementary school teacher at Kentucky Day School in Louisville, was sworn in on April 18, 2024. His wife, Katie Bouchard Wilkinson (Miss Kentucky 2018 and an Owensboro native) was there, along with their toddler son, Ollie. His wife’s parents – who are parishioners of St. Stephen Cathedral in Owensboro – and his wife’s grandparents were also in attendance that day. The Wilkinson family today lives in Louisville.

Susan Montalvo-Gesser, director of Catholic Charities, said their office is always taking on naturalization cases both from clients they assisted in prior process, “like Adam whom we accompanied through a marriage-based visa and adjustment to permanent residence… or those who have had their green card for the requisite number of years to apply for naturalization.”

Those who would like to learn more can call Vicky Montalvo at (270) 852-8367 to get the process started or see if they are eligible to do so.
