Christopher French, diocesan seminarian, instituted into Ministry of Lector

BY WKC STAFF

On March 17, 2024, during the closing Mass for the YOUTH 2000 retreat at Brescia University in Owensboro, Bishop William F. Medley instituted seminarian Christopher French into the Ministry of Lector.

This is the next step on French’s ongoing journey of discernment of the diocesan priesthood.

The Diocese of Owensboro currently has three seminarians studying for the priesthood at Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology in St. Meinrad, Indiana.

Besides French, whose home parish is Holy Spirit in Bowling Green, the seminarians are Conrad Jaconette, whose home parish is St. Joseph in Bowling Green, and who is in third theology; and Hunter Dickens, whose home parish is St. Thomas More in Paducah, and who is in his propaedeutic year – a formation stage to develop a life of prayer, study, fraternity, and appropriate docility to formation.
