Tibetan Buddhist monk visits Ursuline sisters while in Owensboro
BY MOUNT SAINT JOSEPH STAFF, SPECIAL TO THE WESTERN KENTUCKY CATHOLIC
The Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph (and many others) received a lesson on kindness and compassion from a Tibetan Buddhist monk who visited Owensboro in March. Venerable Tsering Phuntsok came to Saint Joseph Villa on March 23 to pray with the Sisters, explain some of his religion, and share his message of maintaining a good heart – known as ‘dharma.” Tsering (it rhymes with “sharing) is friends with Elaine Wright, an associate professor in the School of Social Work at Brescia University.
