Soup, Salad, and a Sermon return to Lourdes

BY MARY LASLEY, SPECIAL TO THE WESTERN KENTUCKY CATHOLIC

Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Owensboro hosted Soup, Salad, and a Sermon in March for its parishioners during their Lenten journey. Three consecutive Thursdays, beginning on March 9, approximately 25 parishioners gathered in the parish hall to share soup and salad that the members prepared for lunch.   After food and fellowship, there was a short talk on a Lenten topic.  Deacon Jay W. VanHoosier gave the first sermon on March 9. The following Thursday, Fr. Tony Shonis spoke to the group, and Fr. Ed Bradley spoke the last week. This event has taken place since 2019 but was paused during 2020 and 2021 due to Covid.
