Divine Mercy Sunday at the Fathers of Mercy

BY MIKE NOLAND, SPECIAL TO THE WESTERN KENTUCKY CATHOLIC

The Chapel of Divine Mercy, and home of the Fathers of Mercy, was host to a special celebration of Divine Mercy Sunday on April 16, 2023. As a part of the special service, the Divine Mercy image was made available for attendees to venerate before and afterwards. Fr. John Broussard, CPM, delivered a homily detailing the history of Divine Mercy Sunday, the promises given to St. Faustina by Our Lord in regard to those who fulfill the obligations of Divine Mercy, and the qualities of mercy.

The Divine Mercy image is displayed in the chapel of the Fathers of Mercy on April 16. COURTESY OF MIKE NOLAND

Following a time of Adoration, a relic of St. Faustina is presented for each attendee to have the opportunity to venerate personally. COURTESY OF MIKE NOLAND
