Pilgrims of Hope: Who Do I Want to Be This Year?
Editor’s note: In celebration of the Jubilee of Hope, The Western Kentucky Catholic has launched Pilgrims of Hope, a yearlong blog series inspired by Pope Francis’ Bull of Indiction of the Ordinary Jubilee of the Year 2025: “My thoughts turn to all those pilgrims of hope who will travel to Rome in order to experience the Holy Year and to all those others who, though unable to visit the City of the Apostles Peter and Paul, will celebrate it in their local Churches.” Blog reflections will be written by individuals from across the Diocese of Owensboro, sharing their unique perspectives on the virtue of hope in a world that so greatly needs it.

As a new year always starts, people set New Year’s resolutions to help them achieve a goal.
Personally, I think the goal should always be to strengthen your relationship with God. God should be the center of my life going forward. No matter how great you think your relationship with God is, you can always make it stronger. Strengthening that relationship with him will take you further in life than anything.
I am graduating this year and plan to build up my faith and live it out. This hits home to me because I have been enrolled in St. Mary School System since I was four years old.
I am looking to finish off this school year having the most fun I have ever had and enjoying the last times being classmates with some of my best friends who I have known forever.
This year, I want to be the best teammate I can be. Whether that is the basketball team, baseball team, or my college baseball team, I want to be a leader and role model for my teammates, paving the way and showing them the right path.
